Episode 10: Zack Snyder's Justice League

In episode 10, we discuss the much anticipated The Snyder Cut as it has come to be known. That's right. Zack Snyder's Justice League. Nearly four years after the original Justice League movie was released, fans and actors of the original petition for Warner Brothers to allow Zack Snyder, the original director to release his version of the movie.

Backstory:

For those of you who didn't know what happened, Zack Snyder was the original director of the Justice League movie, but for the reason which is unclear at the time, Mr. Snyder had suffered the loss of his daughter. It was believed that he had stepped away from the project due to his daughter's death. However, there were articles that started that he was fired from the film either for this reason, or the fact that WB didn't like his version of the film.

Enters Joss Whedon, director of Marvel's Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, etc. The studio forces the actors to come back and reshoot the movie. By this time Henry Cavill, who plays Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El had gone off to film Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and that movie studio didn't want Henry to shave his facial hair. WB decided that it was best to CG the hair off of him, thus removing his upper lip. It cost an estimated 28 million dollars to destroy Henry Cavill's lip.

CG lip aside, Whedon's version of the movie was not received that well among some fans. Shortly thereafter news of the Snyder Cut began to surface and Zack Snyder himself began to entertain the notion of releasing his version. He had to finish it, of course. Once it was done, the WB stood in the way of it. However, maybe due to public pressure, it is unclear, the studio decided to let Snyder release his film. Thus, Zack Snyder's Justice League is born!

We cover this and more in the episode. Listen to the episode here.
