Venom Book Review (Elemental Assassin #3)

Venom is the third installment in the Elemental Assassin series. As the book begins, we see Gin attacked by Jonah McAllister and Elliot Slater, who are Mab Monroe's henchmen. For her assumed involvement in his son's murder, Jonah decides to take matters into his own hands. Aftr the brutal beating, Gin is taken back to Jo-Jo Deveraux's house so she can heal her. As the book unravels, we discover that Bria Coolidge, the detective that replacew Donovan Caine has a vendetta against Mab Monroe. It is again reiterated that Bria is Gin's long lost little sister assumed dead seventeen years ago.

All the while, it is revealed that Roslyn Phillips, owner of the Northern Aggression club is being stalked by Mab's enforcer, Elliot Slater. Gin feels like she owes it to her since, she inadvertedly brought Elliot Slater to Roslyn's door. (Roslyn gave Gin a disguise as one of her hookers to infiltrate Mab Monroe's party to get closer to Tobias Dawson. [Web of Lies])

After two failed attempts to kill Slater, Gin finally succeeds and leaves her calling card as a message to Mab. Gin has declared all out war on Mab to take the heat off of Roslyn.

I really enjoyed this book because I loved the character interactions. Especially, Gin's and Bria's conversations. Gin's coldness and distance that she puts between her and Bria in order to protect herself and Bria. In addition, to feeling out Bria by getting to know her.

Owen and Gin. Things heat up between these two. Owen's truthfulness about his past, allows Gin to open upin ways that she never could with Donovan.

Roslyn and Xavier. We see her vulnerabilty as she is being broken down by Elliot and his control over her. Xavier exhibits strength in trying to hold it together for the both of them.

I can't wait to read to the next book. :-)
